When plastic and rubber products are cooled to a low temperature, they are broken 

or destroyed due to plastic deformation occurring in the material.

This is called brittleness or brittleness test equipment to measure the drop temperature (brittleness) 

at which 50% of the test piece is destroyed to measure the physical limit of brittleness.
